Who I am

It Takes a Village to Raise a Family

Guiding Families With Faith, Care, and Clarity

I am Sarah Zavatchin, RN, BSN, CLC — a Registered Nurse and Certified Lactation Counselor with experience in lactation support, women’s health, pediatrics, complex and ongoing health needs, adoption and foster family care, and end-of-life support. My work is grounded in a biblical worldview that recognizes every person as created in the image of God and worthy of dignity, compassion, and hope at every stage of life.

As a foster and adoptive mother of six, and a wife of more than 20 years, I bring both clinical training and lived family experience to the families I serve. I understand the beauty, complexity, trauma, realities, and resilience woven into family life — especially within adoption and foster care journeys.

My faith shapes how I care for and support others. I continue to pursue formal Biblical Counseling training and thoughtfully integrate Scripture-centered encouragement with practical, trauma-aware, and evidence-informed support. My goal is to serve families with both clinical responsibility and spiritual sensitivity.

Through Black River Nurse Consulting, I provide faith-informed nursing consults, lactation support, adoption and family training, and biblical wellness education and support. My services are educational and supportive in nature. I walk alongside families so they are not alone in seasons of uncertainty, transition, or growth — offering clarity, encouragement, and steady support. Prayer and spiritual encouragement are always available upon request.

I remain actively connected to my local faith community at Crossroads Community Church in Sheboygan, WI, which continues to shape my heart for family care and discipleship-minded support.

From first breath to final rest, my calling is to serve families with truth, compassion, and practical help.
